About the role

Responsibilities

  • Shape and lead a new Data & AI team within Product Development
  • Manage hiring, onboarding, and talent calibration for senior data scientists and engineers
  • Set the AI agenda and define high-impact use cases across the organization
  • Translate company strategy into concrete roadmaps and OKRs
  • Establish engineering standards for code review, testing, and observability
  • Drive AI-assisted development and productivity using modern AI tools
  • Own delivery, quality, and production performance of models and data products
  • Report on ROI and business impact to leadership and Finance
  • Develop and mentor team members into technical leads and influential contributors

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data science, data engineering, or analytics engineering
  • 2+ years of experience leading a team of data professionals
  • Proven track record of hiring and building high-performing technical teams
  • Experience shipping production-grade models or data products with measurable business impact
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, dbt, and cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift)
  • Daily usage of modern AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Copilot, etc.)
  • Strong business acumen and ability to link technical work to financial outcomes
  • Excellent written English for strategy and cross-functional communication

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building or rebuilding technical teams from scratch
  • Domain expertise in transportation, supply chain, or e-commerce logistics
  • Experience running applied AI functions (LLMs, agent workflows, prompt engineering)
  • Experience partnering with Finance on ROI reporting and capitalization
  • Public technical footprint such as blogs, talks, or open-source contributions
