About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide independent, evidence-based challenge on credit proposals, strategy changes, and underwriting policies to ensure alignment with risk appetite.
  • Assess conceptual soundness, data integrity, and risk impacts across origination, account management, and collections strategies.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and emerging risks, providing data-driven insights for leadership briefings.
  • Conduct advanced analytics and trend reviews to identify forward-looking vulnerabilities and loss pressures.
  • Execute components of regulatory capital and stress-testing analysis, focusing on expected loss dynamics and macroeconomic sensitivity.
  • Collaborate with Credit, Finance, Product, and Modeling teams to embed risk considerations into strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain and enhance credit risk governance artifacts, including roles, authorities, and controls.
  • Mentor analysts and associates to strengthen analytical rigor and effective-challenge capabilities.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in risk analytics, portfolio management, credit strategy, or related analytical roles within a financial institution.
  • Postsecondary degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in analytical tools such as Python, SQL, SAS, or R.
  • Strong understanding of credit risk principles, portfolio analytics, governance expectations, and regulatory concepts.
  • Ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear, concise narratives for senior stakeholders.
