Manager, Corporate Accounting

Responsibilities

• Oversee and set priorities for the payroll accounting function within the corporate accounting team
• Manage, mentor, and provide performance management for a team of accountants
• Lead month-end and year-end close activities related to payroll
• Ensure accurate recording of wages, taxes, benefits, and payroll-related accruals
• Oversee the preparation and review of payroll journal entries and account reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and wage and hour laws
• Drive process improvements and system enhancements to increase operational efficiency
• Support internal, external, and regulatory audits by providing necessary documentation

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
• 8+ years of payroll or payroll accounting experience
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP, payroll regulations, and payroll tax requirements
• Proficiency with payroll systems such as UKG, ADP, or Workday
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience working in multi-state or multi-entity environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification
• Experience in large, complex organizations or shared services environments
• Background in system implementations or major process redesigns
