Manager, Cooperative Education

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for the co-op team and student staff
• Manage the delivery of high-quality co-op programming and ensure alignment with institutional priorities
• Oversee program planning, accreditation compliance (CEWIL), and curriculum development
• Lead data-informed decision-making through the analysis of student outcomes and employer engagement metrics
• Collaborate with the Manager of Business Development to support employer relationships and job development
• Manage budgets for career and co-op initiatives, events, and programming
• Provide guidance on escalated workplace concerns, risk management, and conflict resolution

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline
• Minimum of five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
• Willingness to respect diverse perspectives, including those in conflict with one's own

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree
• Proven supervisory experience managing professional staff
• Experience managing career services or co-op/Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) programs
• Strong knowledge of accreditation standards, labour markets, and student development theory
• Experience developing industry partnerships and working with employers
• Strong data analysis, communication, presentation, and project management skills
• Demonstrated ability in conflict resolution and program evaluation
