Manager, Cloud Platform

Responsibilities

• Lead the TELUS Health Cloud Platform team in building an agentic-first, secure, and automated multi-cloud infrastructure across GCP, AWS, and Azure.
• Design and implement an agentic platform operating model where AI agents serve as the primary interface for infrastructure provisioning and request handling.
• Own the security posture of the platform layer, ensuring identity, access, and compliance controls are enforced automatically through code and agents.
• Develop "golden path" frameworks using Terraform and Terragrunt to standardize secure infrastructure patterns.
• Manage a blended team of platform and cloud operations engineers, fostering a culture of automation and security engineering.
• Drive down operational toil by replacing manual ticketing workflows with agent-driven self-service capabilities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive experience in cloud platform engineering or cloud operations.
• 2+ years of experience in a people management or technical leadership role.
• Deep expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code, specifically Terraform and Terragrunt.
• Hands-on experience with at least two major cloud providers (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
• Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language such as Python, Go, or Bash.
• At least one relevant cloud certification (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, or Azure Administrator Associate).
• Strong understanding of cloud security fundamentals, including IAM, RBAC, and network security.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing or operating agentic systems, LLM tool use, or AI-driven workflow automation.
• Experience with policy-as-code and automated compliance enforcement in multi-cloud environments.
• Background in regulated healthcare IT (SOC 2, HIPAA, or PIPEDA).
• CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) credential.
