Manager – Business & Tax Advisory (China Practice)

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of China-connected clients, including mid-market businesses and foreign-invested enterprises
• Provide practical, commercially focused advice on cross-border tax, structuring, and international operations
• Lead end-to-end engagement delivery, including scoping, budgeting, resourcing, and technical review
• Oversee and review tax compliance and reporting to ensure quality and regulatory adherence
• Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders such as CFOs, founders, and boards
• Identify and drive business development opportunities, supporting proposals and pitches
• Collaborate across KPMG’s Australia, China, and global network
• Lead, coach, and develop Consultants and Senior Consultants
• Stay current on China-related tax and regulatory developments

Requirements

• Manager-level experience in tax advisory or professional services
• Strong background in international or China-related tax
• Proven stakeholder management and project delivery skills
• Experience leading and developing teams
• Commercial mindset with a focus on growth
• Completed CA/CPA or equivalent qualification

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working specifically with China-connected clients or cross-border engagements
• Fluency in Mandarin (spoken and/or written)
