Manager, Business Development

Responsibilities

• Identify, cultivate, and secure co-op, internship, and full-time employment opportunities by engaging employers across priority sectors.
• Build and manage strategic relationships with industry associations, community partners, and alumni to expand recruitment pipelines.
• Conduct market and sector analyses to assess hiring trends and inform employer outreach strategies.
• Design and facilitate employer-student engagement activities, including networking events, information sessions, and workplace tours.
• Provide evidence-based feedback to academic leaders regarding industry expectations and evolving career pathways.
• Oversee CRM records to document employer interactions and track business development metrics.
• Lead and coach a team of professional staff and student workers.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum of six years of related business experience.
• Valid BC Driver’s License and access to a vehicle.
• Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's or Graduate degree.
• Experience in business development, B2B sales, recruitment, or industry engagement.
• Proficiency with MS Office and familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
• Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to travel and work occasional evenings or weekends to support events.
