About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide regulatory compliance advice and direction to Wealth business units, including Trust, Registered Plans, EIASI, and Platinum Banking.
- Interpret regulations and advise on the application of requirements to business processes and controls.
- Act as the designated subject matter expert for 1st Line compliance.
- Lead the implementation and execution of the Enterprise Compliance Program (ECP).
- Manage complex compliance programs, frameworks, and projects to ensure risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated.
- Maintain an inventory of regulations and associated controls in the compliance book of record.
- Identify, investigate, and analyze regulatory compliance issues and develop remediation action plans.
- Lead annual and trigger-based Regulatory Compliance Risk Assessments (RCRA).
- Develop and maintain business compliance policies and procedures.
- Support compliance training and awareness programs for business unit employees.
- Assist with information requests for internal and external audits, reviews, or examinations.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in areas such as Trust or Insurance Business Banking.
- Post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- In-depth knowledge of Trust and Estates.
- Expert verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Strong program management and analytical skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external senior stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Office and information technology tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Trust & Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation.
- Knowledge of the Income Tax Act.
- Legal background in Trust, Insurance, or Banking.
- Experience in the Insurance business sector.
