About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic partner responsible for student affairs planning, budget management, and student fees governance.
- Oversee the annual planning process, budget implementation, forecasting, monitoring, and reporting for the Office of Student Experience and Wellbeing (OSEW).
- Lead integrated planning and resource management to ensure alignment between strategic priorities and operational objectives.
- Provide strategic analysis and evidence-informed recommendations to support decision-making and sustainable resource allocation.
- Oversee financial management processes and identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls and operational efficiency.
- Analyze and interpret data to identify trends and service gaps, preparing reports to support operational planning and service delivery.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Business Management, Public Administration, Higher Education, or a related field with a specialization in finance or accounting.
- Minimum of six years of progressive management experience in strategic planning, budget, or operational/financial management.
- Demonstrated experience in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, costing, and procurement.
- Proven experience in operational and administrative management, including developing business plans and data analytics.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) and financial database systems.
- Working knowledge of data analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI, SQL, Tableau, Python, or similar technologies.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Related graduate degree.
- Experience in a post-secondary education environment.
- Experience in human resources management within a unionized environment.
