Manager Brokerage Operations

Responsibilities

• Manage existing brokerage client relationships and drive organic business growth.
• Negotiate rates and services for FTL, LTL, and Intermodal shipments.
• Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for managed accounts.
• Collaborate with the capacity group to ensure proper coverage of committed freight.
• Utilize market-based indices for short-term spot market and long-term contractual pricing.
• Respond to sales inquiries and provide pricing for transactional and proposal-based business.
• Manage and develop operations staff with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Participate in the hiring, training, and ongoing development of new operations team members.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of brokerage experience, specifically with domestic truckload, LTL, and intermodal shipments.
• In-depth knowledge of TMS programs used for brokerage services.
• Familiarity with DOT trucking regulations, including Hours of Service and claims.
• Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong market knowledge of truckload lanes and rates.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a flexible schedule based on shipment volume.
• BA or BS Degree preferred.
