About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage manufacturing information systems and automation infrastructure to ensure zero downtime and high success rates.
- Design, develop, deploy, and test automated processes, systems, and equipment.
- Lead the specification and procurement of new highly automated manufacturing equipment.
- Generate and develop system support documentation, including software test plans and system design documents.
- Provide 24/7/365 technical support and leadership for automation systems in a highly regulated environment.
- Assist in training and mentoring site Automation Technicians and Engineers.
- Monitor and trend issues to identify and implement preventative solutions.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and execute GMP verification protocols.
Requirements
- HS Diploma with 10 years of relevant experience; OR Associate's degree with 8 years; OR Bachelor’s degree with 5 years; OR Master’s degree with 3 years; OR Ph.D. with 0-2 years.
- Experience with Industrial Control Systems such as Rockwell, Siemens, Wonderware, or iFix.
- Experience writing software test plans, user requirements, and system design documents.
- Strong knowledge of Computerized Systems, compliance regulations, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and collaboration tools (SharePoint, Teams).
- Ability to communicate technical issues effectively to management and customers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Knowledge of VMware, virtualization, and basic networking.
- Experience with Database/Historian systems such as SQL or AVEVA PI.
- Experience with batching systems and standards.
- Familiarity with AI tools, including generative technologies like ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot.
