Manager, APAC, Business Trade Compliance

Responsibilities

• Interface across business and regional leadership to ensure global trade compliance policies are integrated with business operations.
• Develop business trade compliance strategies that align with supply chain, commercial, and Global Supply Management (GSM) strategies.
• Govern and monitor Country of Origin determination and valuation for the business.
• Monitor regulatory changes, customs rulings, and court decisions to protect company interests.
• Respond to business inquiries regarding regulatory impacts and requirements.
• Manage the correction of non-compliance identified through corporate auditing.
• Implement risk management strategies to ensure cost-effective compliance with import/export requirements.
• Determine advantageous duty rates or special duty savings programs to reduce total landed costs.
• Streamline and optimize customs clearance processes to reduce lead times.
• Act as an escalation point for businesses and brokers regarding timely imports and product classification.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• US Customs Brokerage License.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in Trade Compliance or customs.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in Trade Compliance (Import/Export).
• Knowledge of HTS Classification, Export Compliance, and Foreign Trade Agreements.
• Experience with Mexico and Canadian customs.
• Experience working in a matrix environment or on cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience working in SAP GTS.
• Experience in a business operations role.
