Manager – Air Freight Emergency Solution Desk

Responsibilities

• Build and manage the Emergency Solution desk, overseeing internal regional teams and global core providers.
• Develop customized air freight products specifically designed for emergency shipment requests.
• Negotiate rates with carriers and manage service agreements to ensure competitive pricing and coverage.
• Support sales verticals (Automotive, Aerospace, Pharma, Healthcare, and Energy) with product knowledge and pricing.
• Monitor trade performance, profit and loss development, and market statistics for the Air Freight product.
• Supervise operations, including conducting performance evaluations, coaching, and mentoring staff.
• Drive profitable business development through customer visits and proactive support of the sales organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years of successful international freight forwarding experience in sales or operations.
• Proficiency in CargoWise (C1) operational systems.
• Mandatory IATA certification as a freight forwarder.
• In-depth knowledge of Pharma and Healthcare industry requirements.
• Extensive expertise in import/export processes and international laws.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in highly volatile market environments.
• Ability to provide on-call support for a 24/7 operational environment.
• Bilingual communication skills.
