Manager, AI Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a distributed team of AI engineers building copilots, agents, and internal AI platforms
• Act as a player-coach by reviewing architecture, contributing to design, and writing code
• Shape and execute the technical roadmap for AI Engineering in partnership with senior leadership
• Design and deliver end-to-end agentic systems including orchestration, tool use, and evaluation
• Build and evolve the internal AI platform, including MCP gateway, agent runtimes, and model access
• Partner with business leaders in Finance, People, Sales, and Marketing to identify and ship high-leverage AI opportunities
• Champion modern AI engineering practices such as evaluation-first development and runtime guardrails
• Recruit and develop world-class AI engineering talent

Requirements

• Significant experience as a software engineering manager leading production-grade teams
• Hands-on depth in modern AI/ML systems, LLMs, RAG, and LLMOps
• Practical experience with agentic orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI)
• Experience designing internal developer platforms or productivity tooling
• Strong software engineering fundamentals in Python, Go, TypeScript, or Java
• Proficiency with modern cloud-native infrastructure like Kubernetes and serverless
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence non-engineering stakeholders
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment while leading distributed teammates

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience re-engineering business processes in enterprise systems like Workday, Salesforce, or NetSuite
• Experience deploying AI tooling at scale to internal users (e.g., Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot)
