About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire the Admissions Testing New Item Development Team to deliver high-quality assessment solutions.
- Partner with the Head of Admissions Testing to set annual targets for new item development and trialling volumes.
- Manage budgets for the annual new-item development programme.
- Oversee the item bank to ensure appropriate capacity across all subjects, item types, and difficulty levels.
- Manage a pool of contractors, including item writers, illustrators, and curriculum consultants.
- Lead the annual live test quality assurance programme and oversee question review activities.
- Maintain high security standards throughout the test development process and drive innovation in assessment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in assessment development.
- Previous leadership experience with an inclusive, coaching-oriented management style.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for accuracy and quality.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for engaging stakeholders at all levels.
- Outstanding time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- High aptitude for both English and mathematics.
- Experience in schedule creation and management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of psychometric tests, particularly reasoning testing (verbal, non-verbal, and spatial reasoning).
