Maintenance Utilities Technician

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain wastewater treatment systems, including pumps, clarifiers, and chemical dosing.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on boilers, steam systems, and feedwater equipment.
• Support engine room operations, including refrigeration systems (ammonia/Freon), compressors, and cooling towers.
• Maintain compressed air, vacuum systems, and other critical plant utilities.
• Conduct daily rounds, log readings, and respond to alarms or abnormal conditions.
• Ensure all utility systems meet EPA, state environmental, and local wastewater discharge requirements.
• Execute PM tasks according to the CMMS schedule and document all work performed.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on forklifts and other powered industrial trucks.
• Follow all GMPs, sanitation standards, and food-safety protocols.
• Travel between assigned plants to support utility operations and emergency response.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in utilities, industrial maintenance, or mechanical systems.
• Working knowledge of boilers, wastewater treatment, refrigeration, or compressed air systems.
• Ability to read technical diagrams and use diagnostic tools.
• Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance documentation.
• Food manufacturing experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between facilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Wastewater Operator certification.
• Boiler Operator license.
• Ammonia refrigeration experience or certification.
