Maintenance Unit Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead all maintenance and reliability activities within the unit to ensure safe operations and asset integrity.
• Oversee preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance strategies and scheduling.
• Manage the unit maintenance budget, driving cost awareness and reduction programs.
• Partner with Operations, Reliability, Procurement, and Engineering to manage asset risks and optimize spare parts inventory.
• Facilitate root cause analysis (RCA) sessions to eliminate recurring problems.
• Oversee non-core contractors, ensuring safety, quality of work, and adherence to schedules.
• Utilize SAP and other maintenance management systems to support continuous improvement.
• Establish and maintain safe work practices and environmental compliance to achieve plant safety goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Reliability.
• 5+ years of experience in maintenance and reliability within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience managing a maintenance department, including utilities-specific equipment.
• Technical expertise with steam turbine generators, gas boiler systems, and air compressors.
• Proficiency in using KPIs for decision-making and corrective actions.
• Experience with SAP or similar maintenance management software.
• Strong ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage contractor labor resources.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

• CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) certification.
• Experience in high-stress or emergency manufacturing environments.
