Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform minor repairs and maintenance on buildings, fixtures, and equipment
• Conduct general maintenance including carpentry, hardware replacement, and light replacement
• Maintain internal signage and accessibility operators
• Inspect and troubleshoot Ving card hardware
• Perform preventative maintenance and check fire and safety equipment
• Clear entranceways of snow and ice and apply salt
• Clean and mop floors, residences, and surrounding areas
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and manage inventory of materials
• Respond to work order requests and communicate with building occupants

Requirements

• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
• Three years of related work experience or equivalent technical training
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and building maintenance experience
• Proficiency with small hand tools, power tools, ladders, and elevated platforms
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written)
• Computer skills and ability to work independently
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather
