Maintenance Technician Trainee

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operation, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment, including mechanical and electrical systems.
• Start and stop pumps and auxiliary equipment, ensuring proper lubrication and cooling for motors, fans, and compressors.
• Take and record plant operational data and inspect equipment for faulty operations.
• Perform routine troubleshooting, including maintaining and calibrating electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Monitor equipment to optimize unit performance, regulating water flows, pressures, temperatures, and fuel consumption.
• Assist in the operation of turbine/generator equipment and the synchronization of units.
• Maintain operational and training logs to ensure a thorough understanding of assigned tasks.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations to maintain a safe work environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, technical/vocational degree, or equivalent.
• 0-4 years of related experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Basic understanding of chemistry, physics, electricity, and mathematics.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience using test equipment and calibration appliances.
• Additional experience with machinery repair and control systems.
