Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform minor repairs and replacements for plumbing fixtures, valves, and other devices.
• Execute minor repairs and replacements for electrical fixtures, devices, and appliances.
• Conduct minor carpentry work to repair windows, doors, hardware, screens, and furniture.
• Inspect all campus buildings on a routine basis to ensure deficiencies are corrected.
• Observe and report defects, deterioration, and wear and tear using the work order system.
• Assist in coordinating major repairs, painting, and facility setups for scheduled events.
• Provide exemplary customer service to internal and external members of the campus community.
• Cooperate with other tradespeople and custodians to perform day-to-day maintenance duties.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 5 years of related maintenance experience.
• Valid Georgia Driver’s License.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds frequently.
• Beginner proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) and email systems (Outlook).
• Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with a diverse community.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
