About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform minor repairs and replacements for plumbing fixtures, valves, and other devices.
- Execute minor repairs and replacements for electrical fixtures, devices, and appliances.
- Conduct minor carpentry work to repair windows, doors, hardware, screens, and furniture.
- Inspect all campus buildings on a routine basis to ensure deficiencies are corrected.
- Observe and report defects, deterioration, and wear and tear using the work order system.
- Assist in coordinating major repairs, painting, and facility setups for scheduled events.
- Provide exemplary customer service to internal and external members of the campus community.
- Cooperate with other tradespeople and custodians to perform day-to-day maintenance duties.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 5 years of related maintenance experience.
- Valid Georgia Driver’s License.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds frequently.
- Beginner proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) and email systems (Outlook).
- Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with a diverse community.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
