Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault finding, and predictive maintenance within a highly regulated ATEX/DSEAR manufacturing environment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot DCS and PLC systems.
• Conduct maintenance and fault identification on Low Voltage (up to 415 vac) electrical installations, switchgear, and distribution systems.
• Execute scheduled site service electrical and mechanical maintenance and installation duties.
• Accurately complete job records on the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Identify and implement continuous improvement projects to optimize machine efficiency and working practices.
• Adhere to site Permit To Work, Lock Out Tag Out, and Risk Assessment systems.

Requirements

• Engineering Technician relevant qualifications (Apprenticeship, L3 GNVQ ONC, NVQ, etc.).
• BS7671 17th/18th Edition wiring regulations.
• Proven experience in electrical maintenance.
• Experience with pneumatic systems fault diagnostics and modifications.
• Ability to diagnose faults to root cause using techniques such as the "5 Whys."
• Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
• Computer literacy and experience with PPM systems.
• CompEx training (Ex01-04) or a willingness to undergo training to achieve certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a hazardous site environment, such as chemical manufacturing.
• Knowledge of ATEX/DSEAR and SEVESO/COMAH regulations.
• Inspection and Testing certification.
• Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.
