About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault finding, and predictive maintenance within a highly regulated ATEX/DSEAR manufacturing environment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot DCS and PLC systems.
- Conduct maintenance and fault identification on Low Voltage (up to 415 vac) electrical installations, switchgear, and distribution systems.
- Execute scheduled site service electrical and mechanical maintenance and installation duties.
- Accurately complete job records on the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Identify and implement continuous improvement projects to optimize machine efficiency and working practices.
- Adhere to site Permit To Work, Lock Out Tag Out, and Risk Assessment systems.
Requirements
- Engineering Technician relevant qualifications (Apprenticeship, L3 GNVQ ONC, NVQ, etc.).
- BS7671 17th/18th Edition wiring regulations.
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance.
- Experience with pneumatic systems fault diagnostics and modifications.
- Ability to diagnose faults to root cause using techniques such as the "5 Whys."
- Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
- Computer literacy and experience with PPM systems.
- CompEx training (Ex01-04) or a willingness to undergo training to achieve certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a hazardous site environment, such as chemical manufacturing.
- Knowledge of ATEX/DSEAR and SEVESO/COMAH regulations.
- Inspection and Testing certification.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.
