Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Support the start-up of the Jeddah Geochemistry lab by coordinating equipment installation and test runs
• Manage the receipt, storage, and tracking of instruments and spare parts from local and overseas suppliers
• Maintain equipment and spare parts registry systems and inventory tracking
• Oversee lab and building infrastructural equipment to ensure consistent operational performance
• Identify preventive maintenance needs and establish a formal maintenance system
• Perform timely repairs or coordinate with external parties to minimize equipment downtime
• Train operators on the safe use and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Project manage in-house customized lab item modifications and alterations

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a laboratory or mechanical/trades workshop environment
• Electrician certification or a related Trades certificate
• Valid Forklift driver’s license
• Proficiency in written and oral English
• Basic skills in MS Office (Word, Excel) and email communication
• Demonstrated craftsmanship and technical aptitude

Preferred Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in mechanical engineering or a related field
• First Aid certificate
• Experience with lab building construction and equipment layout planning
