The Pozez Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia (Pozez JCC), located in Fairfax, Virginia, is a nonprofit, social service organization that builds community and enriches lives. The Pozez JCC is a community connector, offering a variety of programs and services on the main campus, online and throughout Northern Virginia through its many partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair work including basic plumbing, electrical, lighting, carpentry, painting, and patching
• Troubleshoot facility issues and complete repairs in a timely and safe manner
• Conduct routine inspections of building systems and equipment to identify maintenance needs
• Assist with preventative maintenance tasks to reduce equipment failure and facility downtime
• Set up and break down rooms, furniture, and equipment for events or daily operations
• Follow all safety procedures and identify/report unsafe conditions or building hazards
• Support Facilities Services Associates with basic cleaning and custodial duties
• Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, or service records
• Coordinate with outside vendors or contractors under management direction

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3–5 years of experience in building maintenance or facilities support
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and patching
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a community center, school, nonprofit, or healthcare facility
• Familiarity with HVAC systems and basic troubleshooting
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with work-order software
• Vocational training or relevant trade certifications
