About the role
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain large machine tools including horizontal/vertical mills, lathes, and up to 5-axis centers
- Lead or support modernization projects, such as retrofitting legacy equipment and integrating smart technologies (sensors, PLCs, HMIs)
- Perform electrical maintenance on control panels, VFDs, and facility power distribution
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, electrical schematics, and equipment upgrades
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including NFPA 70E, OSHA, and LOTO procedures
- Create and support predictive and preventive maintenance programs
- Train junior technicians on electrical safety, CNC diagnostics, and modernization best practices
Requirements
- Experience in industrial maintenance with a focus on machine tools
- Basic machining and fabrication skills (welding, lathe, and mill)
- Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and OneDrive)
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or at elevated heights
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related field
- Licensed Journeyman Electrician (Washington State or transferable equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of Fanuc, Siemens, Mazak, or similar CNC control systems
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting and programming (Allen-Bradley or Siemens preferred)
- In-depth knowledge of CMMS software
- OSHA 30 certification
