Maintenance Technician-Machining

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain large machine tools including horizontal/vertical mills, lathes, and up to 5-axis centers
• Lead or support modernization projects, such as retrofitting legacy equipment and integrating smart technologies (sensors, PLCs, HMIs)
• Perform electrical maintenance on control panels, VFDs, and facility power distribution
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, electrical schematics, and equipment upgrades
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including NFPA 70E, OSHA, and LOTO procedures
• Create and support predictive and preventive maintenance programs
• Train junior technicians on electrical safety, CNC diagnostics, and modernization best practices

Requirements

• Experience in industrial maintenance with a focus on machine tools
• Basic machining and fabrication skills (welding, lathe, and mill)
• Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and OneDrive)
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or at elevated heights

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related field
• Licensed Journeyman Electrician (Washington State or transferable equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of Fanuc, Siemens, Mazak, or similar CNC control systems
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting and programming (Allen-Bradley or Siemens preferred)
• In-depth knowledge of CMMS software
• OSHA 30 certification
