Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Coordinate equipment repairs of Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) equipment on LCU
• Troubleshoot and repair vessel SLEP equipment
• Assist Army maintainers with maintenance on SLEP equipment
• Work closely with logistics to order parts and equipment
• Complete maintenance faults and track faults to closeout

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in manufacturing or process engineering (or 8 years of equivalent experience)
• 2-4 years of related engineering or Army Watercraft experience
• 4 years of Ship Repair or Shipboard experience in Army/Naval Service
• Knowledge of Hull, Mechanical and Electrical Systems (HM&E), Electronics, or Combat Systems
• US Citizenship required and ability to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
• Working knowledge of Army watercraft Standard items and Army Ship Tech Manuals

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret ship drawings for SLEP, Electronics, or Combat Systems
• Experience as a Landing Craft Utility (LCU) Watercraft Maintenance officer
• Understanding of Army maritime and vessel operations
• 8 years of ship repair experience
• Experience as a vessel chief engineer or assistant chief engineer
