Maintenance Technician III

Responsibilities

• Perform complex mechanical and electrical maintenance on plant equipment to ensure optimum efficiency and availability
• Execute repair, replacement, installation, and removal of mechanical/electrical equipment and associated structures
• Troubleshoot, disassemble, reassemble, and replace equipment and parts while monitoring operating data
• Conduct preventative maintenance activities and assist in developing maintenance procedures and spare parts lists
• Resolve complex technical issues and serve as a resource for other team members
• Provide on-the-job skills training to others in complex technical areas
• Ensure compliance with all local, State, and Federal regulations and maintain a safe work environment

Requirements

• High School Diploma, technical/vocational degree, or equivalent
• 10+ years of directly related experience, including knowledge of health and safety regulations and hazardous materials
• Proficiency in physics and applied mathematics related to power plant systems (turbines, generators, pumps, etc.)
• Experience with industrial frame combustion turbine maintenance
• Welding skills and/or experience operating machine tools such as lathes and mills
• Valid state driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Ability to acquire a California Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 6 months
• Journeyman Mechanic status or equivalent automotive/truck repair background
• Experience with diesel and large truck repair, including OBD 2 Scan Tool diagnostics
• Familiarity with operating 4x4 trucks with snow plows and sanders for road maintenance
