About the role
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, install, align, dismantle, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and mechanical equipment to improve reliability and uptime
- Work with motors, pneumatic and hydraulic components, conveyor systems, and production line equipment
- Read diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications for installations
- Use hand tools, power tools, precision-measuring devices, and testing instruments
- Perform welding using an arc welder and utilize cutting torches
- Troubleshoot issues related to bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors
- Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Work various shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as required
Requirements
- At least two (2) years of maintenance experience in industrial, manufacturing, or military environments
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulics and pneumatics
- Experience reading technical drawings and schematics
- Proficiency with basic computer skills, including typing and email
- Ability to perform welding and cutting torch tasks
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working specifically in the lumber or plywood industries
- A two-year degree in mechanical or industrial maintenance
