About the role

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, install, align, dismantle, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and mechanical equipment to improve reliability and uptime
  • Work with motors, pneumatic and hydraulic components, conveyor systems, and production line equipment
  • Read diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications for installations
  • Use hand tools, power tools, precision-measuring devices, and testing instruments
  • Perform welding using an arc welder and utilize cutting torches
  • Troubleshoot issues related to bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors
  • Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Work various shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as required

Requirements

  • At least two (2) years of maintenance experience in industrial, manufacturing, or military environments
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Experience reading technical drawings and schematics
  • Proficiency with basic computer skills, including typing and email
  • Ability to perform welding and cutting torch tasks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working specifically in the lumber or plywood industries
  • A two-year degree in mechanical or industrial maintenance
