About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair resin systems, vacuum loaders, and support equipment including extruders, pullers, and air/water systems
- Perform tooling changes for the extrusion department as required by production orders
- Troubleshoot faulty electric circuits using a voltmeter to check fuses, motor starters, relays, and motors
- Provide breakdown assistance to all departments and assist with equipment rebuilds or plant shutdowns
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to all safety requirements and local codes
Requirements
- 3 to 4 years of experience in mechanical maintenance
- Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of power transmission equipment (bearings, gears, sprockets, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and pumps)
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, including wrenches, torches, volt meters, drill presses, and band saws
- Ability to perform basic math, take measurements, and read work instructions or safety documents
- Familiarity with plumbing and basic electrical troubleshooting
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous electrical experience
- Knowledge of state and local safety codes
