Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform general facility maintenance including carpentry, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and grounds-keeping tasks
• Execute routine building preventative maintenance and repair procedures for doors, hardware, windows, walls, and flooring
• Identify and correct potential safety hazards and respond to emergency maintenance requests
• Monitor and troubleshoot efficiencies through BAS and DDC controls
• Assist with campus landscapes and serve as a primary contact for snow removal
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance procedures and work orders using CMMS software
• Participate in a shared, rotating on-call schedule for after-hours emergencies

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 5 years of building maintenance experience
• Proficiency with hand and power tools
• Valid Iowa driver’s license (must be insurable to drive)
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System) and BAS (Building Automation Systems)
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence
• Strong communication skills for interacting with colleagues and students
