About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform field and sustainment-level maintenance on COMSEC and C5ISR systems, including cryptographic devices, radios, and electronic subsystems
- Install, configure, and verify communication systems in tactical vehicles and fixed facilities
- Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostics using specialized Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE)
- Maintain accountability and secure storage of COMSEC material in accordance with DoD and NSA policies
- Perform key management operations using EKMS/KMI systems and devices such as SKL AN/PYQ-10
- Document maintenance actions and update system records in GCSS-Army or equivalent platforms
- Provide technical training and guidance to junior technicians and supported units
Requirements
- U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
- 3-11 years of specialized experience depending on education level (Bachelor's + 3 years, Associate's + 7 years, or 11 years total)
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in COMSEC or C5ISR systems maintenance and installation
- Proficiency in reading and applying Army Technical Manuals (TM) and wiring diagrams
- Familiarity with cryptographic key management systems (EKMS/KMI)
- Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments and various weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted and climb in and out of military vehicles
- Valid passport with at least 12 months of validity and 6 blank pages
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified COMSEC Technician (CCT) or equivalent certification
- Certified C5ISR Technician (CC5ISR-Tech) or related credentials
- GCSS-Army certification and experience with DoD maintenance systems
- Advanced knowledge of IP networking, LAN/WAN troubleshooting, and secure communications protocols
- Experience with Type 1 cryptographic devices and associated loaders
- Prior overseas professional experience
