Maintenance Technician (COMSEC/C5ISR)

Responsibilities

• Perform field and sustainment-level maintenance on COMSEC and C5ISR systems, including cryptographic devices, radios, and electronic subsystems
• Install, configure, and verify communication systems in tactical vehicles and fixed facilities
• Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostics using specialized Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE)
• Maintain accountability and secure storage of COMSEC material in accordance with DoD and NSA policies
• Perform key management operations using EKMS/KMI systems and devices such as SKL AN/PYQ-10
• Document maintenance actions and update system records in GCSS-Army or equivalent platforms
• Provide technical training and guidance to junior technicians and supported units

Requirements

• U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
• 3-11 years of specialized experience depending on education level (Bachelor's + 3 years, Associate's + 7 years, or 11 years total)
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in COMSEC or C5ISR systems maintenance and installation
• Proficiency in reading and applying Army Technical Manuals (TM) and wiring diagrams
• Familiarity with cryptographic key management systems (EKMS/KMI)
• Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments and various weather conditions
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted and climb in and out of military vehicles
• Valid passport with at least 12 months of validity and 6 blank pages

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified COMSEC Technician (CCT) or equivalent certification
• Certified C5ISR Technician (CC5ISR-Tech) or related credentials
• GCSS-Army certification and experience with DoD maintenance systems
• Advanced knowledge of IP networking, LAN/WAN troubleshooting, and secure communications protocols
• Experience with Type 1 cryptographic devices and associated loaders
• Prior overseas professional experience
