Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of common areas, including walkways, entrances, and facilities.
• Conduct routine building and equipment inspections and report findings to the Operations Supervisor.
• Perform basic residential repairs such as fixing sinks, showers, replacing lights, and changing locks.
• Execute preventive maintenance tasks, including HVAC filter changes.
• Respond to tenant work orders and maintenance tasks using Building Management Software (Angus Anywhere).
• Oversee third-party contractors to ensure work meets contract standards and safety requirements.
• Conduct weekly inspections of vacant units and perform regular utility meter readings.
• Maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training is preferred.
• Proven experience in general building maintenance and residential repair work.
• Physical ability to walk 6–10 miles daily between properties and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Flexible availability to participate in on-call coverage.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures (e.g., WHMIS, Lockout/Tagout) is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supervising or working alongside third-party contractors.
• Familiarity with Angus Anywhere or similar Building Management Systems.
