Maintenance Technician

CIMMYT is a non-profit international agricultural research and development organization focused on strengthening maize and wheat production systems in developing countries.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance including painting, welding, door repairs, aluminum work, sanding, drywall, and ceiling repairs
• Execute general masonry, tiling, and waterproofing tasks
• Move, repair, and assemble office and residential furniture
• Support refueling of maintenance vehicles such as trucks and motorcycles
• Perform carpentry work for the construction and repair of building structures
• Maintain tools and equipment in optimal working condition and report failures
• Maintain records of work orders and logs
• Perform other support functions as assigned by the immediate supervisor

Requirements

• Technical degree in maintenance preferred; secondary education required
• Minimum of four years of experience in a similar role
• Experience in general masonry preferred
• Ability to comply with established safety standards
• Availability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays
• Strong sense of urgency and commitment to deadlines
• Competencies in critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving
