Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on fault diagnosis and repair of plant equipment to minimize operational downtime.
• Execute preventive and breakdown maintenance activities in collaboration with internal teams and external contractors.
• Manage spare parts inventory to ensure stock availability for maintenance tasks.
• Conduct regular machinery inspections and document all repairs and downtime for reporting.
• Lead capital projects, including contractor coordination and expenditure control.
• Ensure strict compliance with health and safety standards and OHS Act regulations.
• Provide technical expertise during equipment installation and acceptance testing.
• Drive continuous improvement in safety, cost efficiency, and process optimization.

Requirements

• N4 qualification.
• Trade Tested Artisan (Millwright).
• Proven PLC experience.
• 3-5 years of technical experience within an FMCG environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance.
• Proficiency in fault finding and root cause analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PLC troubleshooting and basic programming.
• Knowledge of CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems).
• Understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and robotics systems.
• Familiarity with Lean or TPM principles.
