About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the maintenance team while promoting a strong safety culture
- Assign, prioritize, and follow up on maintenance activities
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve efficiency
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment issues
- Support facility maintenance, equipment reliability, and process improvements
- Participate in safety meetings, emergency response protocols, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage maintenance schedules, resources, and department expenditures
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and plant safety enhancements
- Collaborate with leadership and operations teams to support facility goals
Requirements
- 2–5 years of leadership experience, preferably in a union environment
- 3–5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in food manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance principles
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop team members
- Strong communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
