Maintenance Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance personnel, including mechanics, electricians, and boiler operators, to meet plant goals regarding health, safety, quality, and cost.
• Manage preventive and corrective maintenance activities, equipment installations, and infrastructure modifications.
• Ensure compliance with collective agreements and maintain positive labor relations.
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting and repairs to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Manage the maintenance budget, including determining parts needs, obtaining quotes, and placing orders.
• Oversee the maintenance inventory system and ensure availability of required parts.
• Lead health and safety (SST) programs, including training, compliance with CNESST standards, and accident investigations.
• Maintain and update technical documentation, maintenance programs (HACCP, BRC, Food Defense), and preventive maintenance schedules.

Requirements

• DEC in mechanical or electrical engineering combined with 5 years of relevant experience, OR 10 years of experience as a maintenance supervisor in a unionized food manufacturing plant.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and Access.
• Fluency in both French and English (written and spoken).
• Strong leadership, communication, and stress management skills.
