About the role
Responsibilities
- Directly supervise maintenance employees on night shifts to ensure effective delivery of maintenance services and support 24/7 production operations.
- Plan, assign, and direct work while addressing product and employee complaints and resolving technical problems.
- Collaborate with plant engineers and maintenance managers to improve equipment reliability, safety, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Supervise both routine maintenance and capital projects for the site.
- Utilize mechanical and electrical expertise to maintain production systems, utilities, buildings, and grounds.
- Manage utilities including refrigeration, electrical, steam, and compressed air systems to ensure they are in proper working order.
- Implement corrective actions based on maintenance performance indicators and utilize CMMS to optimize asset utilization.
- Develop and deliver hands-on training for maintenance technicians and operators on plant equipment and troubleshooting.
- Lead urgent troubleshooting efforts on critical equipment to minimize downtime and restore safe operations.
- Manage employee performance, including selection, retention, development, and disciplinary actions.
Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably within the Dairy, Food, or Beverage industry.
- Minimum of 1 year of previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of boilers, refrigeration, PLCs, electrical systems, cooling towers, and ammonia compressors.
- Strong skills in electronics, instrumentation, and electrical systems troubleshooting.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and understand PLC ladder logic.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance planning software (SAP preferred).
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety/security policies.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and night shifts.
