Maintenance Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct subordinate personnel in plant engineering functions including General Maintenance, Cold End Mechanization, and Batch & Furnace
• Direct and analyze operations regarding personnel, equipment, and department policies
• Manage preventive maintenance programs and conduct periodic inspections of plant systems and facilities
• Supervise construction and service work performed by outside contractors
• Oversee training for electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical crafts
• Implement Lean Six Sigma principles to foster a continuous improvement culture
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations (OSHA, NFPA)
• Champion energy savings initiatives and oversee the plant apprenticeship program

Requirements

• 3-5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Post-secondary training (college coursework, military technical programs, or apprenticeship)
• Strong mechanical foundation with expertise in pipe fitting, welding, water systems, compressors, and electrical diagnostics
• Proficiency in MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work in diverse environments including heights, confined spaces, and hot/dusty conditions
• Authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Previous experience in the glass industry
