About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of millwrights, mechanics, planners, and technicians to ensure equipment is in top working order
- Implement reliability maintenance practices to eliminate production downtime
- Lead the planning, implementation, and scheduling of maintenance projects
- Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, including LOTO and Hot Work programs
- Manage maintenance records, inventories, and budgetary compliance
- Develop short- and long-range work plans and shift resources based on business priorities
Requirements
- Over 7 years of experience as a millwright
- Completion of an accredited degree program or extensive on-the-job knowledge
- Strong mechanical, welding, technical, and organizational knowledge
- Ability to work in an industrial mill environment, including heights, confined spaces, and extreme temperatures
- Availability for periodic night, weekend, or holiday hours and an on-call rotation
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a wood products manufacturing environment
