About the role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the installation, maintenance, and repair of all company machinery, equipment, and facility infrastructure
- Manage hourly maintenance personnel to ensure safe, effective, and efficient operations in compliance with company policies
- Assess and prioritize work requests, ensuring all necessary materials and spare parts are available
- Develop manpower schedules, manage overtime, and oversee payroll-related tasks such as time sheets and vacation approvals
- Implement and oversee preventative maintenance programs for electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems
- Monitor contractor activities and coordinate facility updates, renovations, or new construction projects
- Maintain inventory of equipment, manuals, and warranties while utilizing computerized maintenance management systems
- Ensure facility compliance with safety regulations, housekeeping standards, and environmental management systems
Requirements
- Community College degree in a related field or five years of experience in a mechanical/electrical capacity
- Proven supervisory and leadership experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve technical issues independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PLC software
- Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal workplace compliance regulations
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work in a 24/7 environment, including being on call for weekends and emergencies
- Physical ability to lift up to 75lbs and work in both indoor and outdoor environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of ISO TS14001 and Environmental Management Systems (EMS)
- Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) for machine capability
- Familiarity with CAD software
