About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and field leadership during equipment breakdowns and emergency response activities.
  • Support Operations and Reliability Engineering with equipment sparing decisions, replacement plans, and cost/schedule estimates.
  • Maintain vendor relationships, audit vendor processes, and assist in the research and evaluation of manufacturers for equipment purchases.
  • Provide field construction guidance for maintenance and expansion projects.
  • Assist with the technical development of Electrical Technicians and Engineering Project Leaders.
  • Evaluate and communicate the likelihood of equipment failure and repair/replacement timeframes for critical equipment.
  • Participate in equipment failure analysis and taproot investigations.
  • Maintain technical competency with Switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, Transformers, Motors, and MV substation equipment.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of pipeline operations, engineering, or maintenance experience.
  • Working knowledge of Switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, and Transformers.
  • Ability to read and comprehend One-line power diagrams.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E standards.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% (mostly day trips).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Electrical Engineering degree.
  • Experience with Protective Relay programming and diagnostics (SEL, GE Multilin).
  • Experience with ETAP.
  • Experience with large motor troubleshooting and diagnostics (PDMA experience is a plus).
