About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform general repairs to buildings, including interiors, exteriors, furniture, fixtures, and HVAC systems
- Execute maintenance tasks in specialized trades such as plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work
- Maintain and repair motorized equipment, including tune-ups and component replacement for engines, generators, and pumps
- Conduct minor repairs on navigational locks and hydraulic hoses
- Perform maintenance and repairs on marine vessels and related marine facilities, including pipefitting and carpentry
- Operate and maintain a variety of hand-held equipment, motorized vehicles, and agricultural machinery
- Estimate necessary labor and materials for repair projects
- Oversee the work of subordinate repairers and trades helpers when assigned
Requirements
- Two years of experience in building construction trades, building maintenance, mechanical equipment repair, or park operations
- Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering
- Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering
- Ability to work alternate schedules, including evenings and Saturdays, during summer camp events
