Maintenance Planner

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the rolling stock maintenance schedule to ensure compliance with regulatory and operational standards
• Coordinate maintenance activities with engineering, operations, safety teams, and external contractors
• Monitor and analyse fleet performance data to identify areas for improvement and optimisation
• Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities and compliance with protocols
• Assist in developing maintenance budgets and optimising resource allocation
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fleet reliability and efficiency
• Perform payroll activities for direct maintenance staff
• Create rosters to ensure preventive and corrective maintenance needs are optimised
• Manage asset and gauge calibrations
• Manage subcontractors, including bogie and wheelset overhauls and trucking companies

Requirements

• Relevant qualifications in a mechanical or electrical trade, Maintenance Management, or a related field
• Proven experience in maintenance planning, preferably within the rail industry
• Strong understanding of rolling stock maintenance processes and regulations
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Word
• Experience using Maintenance Management Systems (e.g., Hexagon or similar)
