About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the rolling stock maintenance schedule to ensure compliance with regulatory and operational standards
- Coordinate maintenance activities with engineering, operations, safety teams, and external contractors
- Monitor and analyse fleet performance data to identify areas for improvement and optimisation
- Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities and compliance with protocols
- Assist in developing maintenance budgets and optimising resource allocation
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fleet reliability and efficiency
- Perform payroll activities for direct maintenance staff
- Create rosters to ensure preventive and corrective maintenance needs are optimised
- Manage asset and gauge calibrations
- Manage subcontractors, including bogie and wheelset overhauls and trucking companies
Requirements
- Relevant qualifications in a mechanical or electrical trade, Maintenance Management, or a related field
- Proven experience in maintenance planning, preferably within the rail industry
- Strong understanding of rolling stock maintenance processes and regulations
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Word
- Experience using Maintenance Management Systems (e.g., Hexagon or similar)
