Maintenance Planner

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and provide maintenance oversight for production assets in a batch specialty chemical manufacturing environment.
• Develop weekly, outage, and long-range maintenance schedules using CMMS data and production priorities.
• Define job scopes, including labor estimates, parts, materials, permits, special tools, and contractor requirements.
• Integrate safety requirements such as permit-to-work, LOTO, hot work, and confined space protocols into work planning.
• Coordinate downtime windows with Production and Scheduling to ensure preventive maintenance and reliability tasks are completed.
• Manage contractor and vendor coordination, including obtaining quotes and evaluating cost/lead-time tradeoffs.
• Support reliability improvement by identifying recurring failures and assisting with root cause analysis.
• Track inspections, tests, and repairs for pressure vessels and fixed equipment to ensure regulatory and OSHA PSM compliance.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 7-9 years of experience in maintenance planning and scheduling.
• Strong understanding of maintenance and reliability concepts, including work management and continuous improvement.
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting knowledge for production equipment, piping, pumps, and valves.
• Proficiency in SAP/Concur, CMMS/e-Maintenance, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to manage complex priorities and coordinate effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
