Maintenance Multi-Craft Technician

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical expert for equipment reliability, responding to unplanned downtime and breakdowns
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on high-speed processing, filling, and packaging systems
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, PLC, and control systems to identify root causes
• Design, fabricate, and install equipment improvements using welding and machining
• Support and lead planned shutdowns and major maintenance activities
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams to optimize equipment performance
• Maintain accurate documentation using work order and inventory systems
• Ensure compliance with FDA, OSHA, and Abbott policies and procedures

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred
• Proven experience in manufacturing maintenance, ideally in a regulated environment (food, pharma, etc.)
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints
• Proficiency in PLC diagnostics and programming basics
• Experience with welding, fabrication, or machining
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with predictive maintenance tools such as vibration analysis and alignment
• Experience in a high-speed nutrition or food manufacturing environment
