Maintenance Mechanical Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical maintenance across site plants, mobile machinery, and vessel-related equipment
• Conduct planned maintenance on forklifts, end-loaders, bobcats, excavators, and other machinery
• Maintain fertilizer conveyor systems, bulka bagging systems, bulk grabs, and hoppers
• Diagnose faults and perform fabrication and welding repairs as required
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environment policies and operate the safety Tag Out system
• Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately using Mainpac
• Liaise with contractors and specialist mechanical service providers to support operational targets

Requirements

• Completed apprenticeship in a relevant trade (e.g., Diesel Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, Boilermaker, or similar)
• Post-trade training or equivalent industrial experience
• Significant experience in mechanical maintenance within a workshop or industrial environment
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Welding competency and the ability to read technical documentation and service manuals
• Ability to work at heights and meet medical fitness standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with bulk grabs, conveyors, and port-related equipment
• Sound knowledge of Port of Brisbane operations
