Maintenance Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, install, and repair pipe, vessels, tubing, structural steel, and other metal work.
• Maintain, repair, and rebuild rotating equipment including pumps, blowers, agitators, and mechanical seals.
• Perform welding tasks using SMAW (stick) and GTAW (TIG) techniques on carbon steel and various stainless steels.
• Execute metal working tasks such as thermal cutting, plasma cutting, and grinding.
• Align shafts to industry standards using laser alignment equipment.
• Assemble and install piping using threaded, soldered, brazed, or fused joints.
• Participate in plant health, safety, and environmental (HS&E) initiatives and follow life-critical procedures.
• Inspect and test equipment prior to turnover to production.
• Coordinate repairs with production teams to ensure minimal interference with plant activities.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in industrial construction or maintenance.
• 3+ years of experience as a welder and pipe fitter.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and operational manuals.
• Proficiency in basic mathematics, including fractions, percentages, ratios, and geometric constructions.
• Ability to calculate offsets and variables for fabricating and installing piping.
• Competency in welding and millwright skills (demonstrated through experience or a hands-on skills test).

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a millwright.
