Maintenance Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on facility equipment including conveyors, forklifts, industrial batteries, carton sealers, and HVAC systems.
• Manage daily routine tasks such as changing, watering, and charging forklift batteries and maintaining the cardboard baler.
• Conduct regular inspections of safety and fire suppression systems, including fire pumps, sprinklers, alarms, and eyewash stations.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
• Assist the Maintenance Manager with parts inventory, purchasing, and preventative maintenance scheduling.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following housekeeping practices and reporting potential hazards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent; technical trade school preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of electronic and electrical systems.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Basic skills in plumbing, painting, and carpentry.
• Basic computer skills and strong verbal/written communication.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment with limited supervision.
• Physical ability to lift 10 to 55 pounds repeatedly and stand/walk for 6 to 10 hours a day.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working in a distribution or warehouse environment.
