Maintenance Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Monitor, inspect, and maintain mechanical systems, equipment, and controls to ensure optimum efficiency.
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other mechanical systems.
• Provide startup, shutdown, and operational service for heating and cooling equipment.
• Inspect and test emergency generators, lighting, smoke alarms, and life/safety systems.
• Maintain detailed records using paper logs and maintenance management software.
• Respond to emergency requests regarding HVAC and life/safety systems.
• Adhere to all safety procedures, including lock-out/tag-out and OSHA requirements.
• Work a scheduled rotation to cover occasional alternative shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of experience in building equipment maintenance.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems (boilers, air handlers, chillers, etc.).
• Knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems.
• Ability to work at heights using ladders and aerial work platforms (e.g., boom or scissor lifts).
• Ability to pass a standard half-face mask respirator fit-test.

Preferred Qualifications

• Participation in technical training courses involving HVAC.
