Maintenance Mechanic III

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, repair, and replace mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and structural systems across 50 buildings.
• Repair or replace pumps, compressors, motors, and specialized equipment including emergency generators.
• Maintain water, sewer, air, and gas lines, as well as electrical outlets, switches, and light fixtures.
• Repair sheet metal structures, including ducts, roof gutters, flashing, and tanks.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and job specifications to perform maintenance and repairs.
• Perform brazing, soldering, and welding on pipes, sheet metal, and metal fixtures.
• Provide in-service training to other employees regarding building and equipment maintenance.
• Support the safe and efficient operation of facilities located across 400 acres of lakefront property.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in maintenance, including building construction, motor repair, and electrical/plumbing installation.
• Ability to perform labor-intensive physical work and lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license to operate University and Alumni Association vehicles.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interact positively with diverse groups of people.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with small engine repair.
