Maintenance Mechanic II

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day equipment setup, operation, repair, and troubleshooting for pharmaceutical packaging machinery
• Perform preventative maintenance and execute tasks using CMMS
• Set up and operate machinery including cartoning, blistering, bottling equipment, inkjet coders, and checkweighers
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in partnership with Maintenance Trades
• Adhere to all cGMP, GCP, and company SOPs to ensure high quality and minimal waste
• Assist in the orientation and training of new packagers and maintenance personnel
• Fabricate change parts and bracketry as required
• Maintain cleanliness of packaging and maintenance areas through good housekeeping practices

Requirements

• 4-6 years of hands-on technical and setup experience in the pharmaceutical or food packing industry, or enrollment in an Apprenticeship program (433A or 442A)
• Strong mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot technical problems and perform preventative maintenance
• Knowledge and understanding of GMP processes
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills for accurate documentation
• Manual dexterity to set up, adjust, and run equipment to specific specifications
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and follow complex directions using tools like microdetectors and dial calipers

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints
• Knowledge of basic electronics and pneumatics principles
• Experience with fabrication and basic TIG welding
• Knowledge of mechanics, including drive shaft alignment and bearing replacement
